It's now a tradition in our family to go outing every New Year's day, January 1. And it's usually spent at the local beach in our place. For this year 2015, we had it at Soleo Beach, San Enrique, Negros Occidental, PH. Last year, we spent at Las Olas just a stone throw from the beach of Soleo Beach.
We spent for almost 7 hours at the beach. We brought our extra food in our media noche (early morning snack) for the whole family to partake at that time.
As usual we availed of the tryke of our son-in-law, Almon for our transport service to bring us back and forth to the beach and home.
This year we went to the Soleo beach, which bears the title as the "vacation spot of the south". It is complete of amenities like convenience store, function hall, swimming pool, videoke, rooms, cottages, and play ground. The place at the time was full of people all over the ground. They're also spending their new year for family gathering, reunion and having a thanksgiving party there.
Family Bonding
Our family bonding was strengthened. Our grandchildren: Toto Bryan, Adgel, Bulaklak, Panie and Inday Sophie enjoyed splashing at the warm sea water of Soleo Beach. She ran as free as the wind.
Inday Sophie is our youngest granddaughter from our third daughter, An An. She was too excited to play in the water. At her 2-year age, she managed alone to go straight to the shore, trying to climb the improvised 3-foot concrete wall that blocks the shore to prevent the flash of water direct to the cottages.
Her father, Stephen helped her and kept her watch as she enjoyed the flashing sea water. This was the second time that she was exposed to the shore. The first was at the Las Olas beach when she was 1 year old.
The rest of us like Toto Jun and his wife, Inday Carissa, Dona and her hubby Almon, An An, Gigi, and me were at the rented cottage enjoying the foods, the freshness of the cool air from the sea breeze. Toto Jun and me did our day-to-day task at the web. We brought along with us our laptop and made use of my mobile wifi.
Expression of Gratefulness
This is how our family expressed our gratefulness to the Lord for a new year, for a new opportunity to live another year, and for another chance to mend our ways according to the will of the Lord.
And we consider this family outing as one of the best opportunities for us to prove that family can be together and even forever as long as we live and true to our covenant with the Lord.
