Best Tatay (Father), Am I?

Today is Father's Day. What's it in store for me, especially from my children?

The five fathers in our family
The Fathers in our family: ltr-Papa Tipoy, Toto Jun, Papa Almon, Papa Dondon, and Tatay Gilbor

I have six children. Four of them are married. They've their job to support their family. Only my 2nd daughter and the youngest daughter are single. We've raised them through thick and thin. At least we've not failed them. We've sent them to school. We've raised them according to the "nurture and admonition of the Lord".

In this special day for all fathers, our children have shown their thoughtfulness by sharing me inspiring  messages and words of gratefulness. My wife, Rebing and I are so happy about it. We've nothing to give them in return but to be proud and be happy and to continue or to edify our family relationship for we believe that family could be together forever.

Thank You, Lord of 'Making Us Feel Brand New'

I am indeed feeling myself of being "brand new" for your thoughtfulness on my 65th birthday. I appreciate such spirit uplifting gesture coming from you for being a part in your life and what I have done in my most humble way of serving you and  kept our friendship burning.

My wife and I are very much thankful for your greetings and also to those who have given us a "minute" gift of love especially to our children, grandchildren.

To recognize such wonderful thoughts, I have the following screenshots  from those well wishers and greeters on my 65th birthday on October 13, 2016. These greetings are  published on my personal Facebook account and on DepEd ICT Coordinators page in FB which I managed and administered:

How Kids Value Valentine's Day in School

by Gil Camporazo

Happy Valentine's Day!

Love may have different definitions according to its purpose, applications as far as lovers are concerned. Love may mean to different people, to different occasion, to different culture, and to different ideology. Whatever, it is, February is considered by many as the month of love, particularly here in our country PH.

The school principal, before reading the cards given him by their thoughtful grade six pupils, cited the three categories of love.

Ma'm Sarah Adenix with her thoughtful pupil
Ma'm Sarah Adenix with her thoughtful pupil
Love is between two opposite sex, the male and the female. They've expressed their love as an affection on how they do care each other and finally join together in matrimony after exchanging "I Dos". They both shall live and till death do depart. In the course of their married life, they've founded a family and a home.

Another category of love is a love among the members of the family. Thus, a home is built where there's love. Children obey their parents and they're nurtured in the admonition of the Lord by their parents. They establish a home wherein a family is believed to be forever spiritually inspired. Members of the family are holding family prayers, going to Church together and having a family home evening to maintain closed ties among themselves.

New Year's Day Outing at the Beach 2015

by Gil Camporazo

It's now a tradition in our family to go outing every New Year's day, January 1. And it's usually spent at the local beach in our place. For this year 2015, we had it at Soleo Beach, San Enrique, Negros Occidental, PH. Last year, we spent at Las Olas just a stone throw from the beach of Soleo Beach.

We spent for almost 7 hours at the beach. We brought our extra food in our media noche (early morning snack) for the whole family to partake at that time.

As usual we availed of the tryke of our son-in-law, Almon for our transport service to bring us back and forth to the beach and home.

Wedding Bells Are Ringing for Rica and Glenn

Last December 30, late in the afternoon, I witnessed the wedding ceremony of my granddaughter, Ricalyn Camporazo, the only daughter of my nephew, Ricardo Camporazo.

Ricalyn exchanged "I do" with Glenn Salas in a simple nuptial rites at the Community Church of La Carlota City, Negros Occidental.

Marriage is a social custom in which a man and a woman bind themselves in a legal commitments or in a religious ceremonies to live as husband and wife.

Biblically, it is God who ordained marriage.

"Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.." (Matthew 19:6)

"Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband. The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife" (1 Corinthians 7:3-4)

"And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery." (Mark 10:12)

"Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them." (Colossians 3:18-19)

Family Day at Las Olas 2012

Five of my six children (my eldest son is in Mindanao), 4 grandchildren, one nephew and one son-in-law joined with us in our one-day family outing today at Las Olas beach resort, San Enrique, Negros Occidental.

This is our usual family day activity during New Year's day. Since this year's new year falls on Sunday and we have to go to Church and attend our Sunday services on that day, so we spent it the following day, Monday. It's good that there's no classes on this day.

Cottages, Nipa huts, conference hall, big canteen are avaiable for the excursionists, transient visitors for a day or two outings to free themselves of the boredom of their day-to-day jobs.

The rentals are ranging from Php600 per cottage, Php800 per nipa hut, and Php 1,500 for conference/function hall. Entrance fee: adult, Php10 and child, Php7.

We brought along our foods for our lunch and snacks. Almon, my son-in-law grilled the "gusao", a kind of a fish, which he bought from the fresh catch of the fishermen who just fished them along the seashore. It's so satisfying to eat them directly cooked from the grill, while it's still hot!

Las Olas beach resort is one of the good beaches here in Negros Occidental. It could be one of your good options to find one to have a relaxation with your family, outing with some friends, and a conference venue for your business partners and associates. Eighty to ninety persons could be accommodated in their function/conference native hall. Rooms for 3 to 4 persons are also available for transients to occupy for overnight. Water and light facilities are available. For entertainment, videoke bar is also available. There's also a canteen for short-order foods.

We've a great fun and a happy, enjoyable family reunion. We went home past five in the afternoon. All of our grandchildren were exhausted, fatigue for a whole day playing at the seashore. All their faces turned red. We've some fun at the beach once in every year as a family by tradition. And it's also our grand family reunion.

We do believe that "families could be together forever."
