La Carlota ALS Joins Tree Planting

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) of La Carlota City conducted recently a tree planting activity at the protected area of Kanlaon Park at the upper Sitio Nailab, Brgy. Ara-al, La Carlota City. This is in connection with its national greening program of the government.

Alternative Learning System (ALS) mobile teacher, Ms. Corazon Aloro organized her group with a nod from their education program supervisor Avelino N. Santillan. Eleven ALS representatives composed of the learners and their respective instructional managers and mobile teachers to participate to this one-day tree planting.

The involvement of ALS to this NGP of DENR is the realization of the Department of Education commitment to the PNOY 1-Billion Project of the Aquino administration to protect the environment by planting trees.

The planting of trees like narra, molave, and lauan is accomplished. Everyone felt happy and contented that he or she has accomplished a life-saving activity for the present and for the future generation.

      Let's absolutely bring back the greening of our environment, especially our forest protected area. No one could ever help us than ourselves. Spiritually speaking, God helps those who help themselves.

    It's good to see that a lot of youths get exposed to nature activities like tree planting. It's one way of teaching them its benefits and importance. :)

    I missed tree planting activities, I was once a member of Junior Ecologist Movement way back in highschool. We had a tree planting activity once in a month in different places.

      It is better late than never. Star all over again. Join with this environment and even life-saving activity be sponsored by any organization, agency or group.

    When I was a student, i love joining tree planting activities since it was fulfilling being part of protecting the future via tree planting.

    These photos reminded me of my tree planting days in high school. That was lots of fun even though it was really hot. :D

    The task itself may have been a little difficult but I'm sure the sense of fulfillment in doing something good for the environment more than compensates for it.

      Just keep in touch with DENR, DepEd or whichever seems to practical for you for this is a nature and life saving activity if you will.

      It is good to hear that you've participated. The PH government has already launching a 1 Billion Trees Project as a part of the national greening program.

    nice to know, endemic trees where planted..
    here I was about to go ballistic, especially that DENR is involved in this project.
    Kanlaon Park, nice one! knowing that Kanlaon is actually one of my dream climbs. :)

      Well, that's good to hear from you for your plan to go explore our Kanlaon. I am sure you will find it more challenging, especially when you reach the top or the crater of Kanlaon.

    This is indeed a very good deed worth emulating by many of us. I believe that the global warming can still be reversed if and when we plant more trees and only be cut in due time.
