Synergeia Monitors SGC Implementation

"We make education work"  and  "communities working together" show how Synergeia work with the school.

Synergeia is a coalition of individuals, institutions, and organizations working to improve the quality of basic education. Etymologically, Synergeia is defined as "a union of forces whose whole is greater than the sum of its parts."

They implement programs to improve basic education for nearly 1.5 million schoolchildren in 250 municipalities in the Philippines. They engage local governments, socio-civic groups, schools, teachers, parents, and students to work together in upgrading basic education.

Starting this month of September, Synergeia is fielding their key personnel to visit every school especially in public to create an opportunity on how it could be helped in "making education work," particularly here in the Division of La Carlota City.

Looking for Grade 5-6 Electronic Class Records?

by Gil Camporazo

ECR Templates
ECR Templates
Since the electronic class records were already implemented for grades 1 to 4 which are under the K to 12 curriculum, the grades 5 and 6 were left out for they're using the old curriculum.

A month later after the regular opening of classes in June, a need on the implementation of ECR to all grades was realized. Grades 5 and 6 should have their own electronic templates too for their class records.

It's good that those selected members of the group of teachers were ready to comply with the order and they had officially come with the said record templates for the public school teachers to use starting this school year 2015 - 2016.

How Things Made Easy at LIS

by Gil Camporazo

Learner Information System (LIS) is introduced by the Department of Education to make things easier for the teachers and also for the education agency as well.

Every learner has been issued a learner reference number (LRN) for easy tracking of his whereabout and for the DepEd to maintain a learner registry for that matter.

With the teacher's job made easy especially in providing a complete learner profile and with a voluminous learner data in a centralized registry of learner, the DepEd could have the assurance of genuine, reliable, valid info of those learners for an accurate decision making.

Since LIS inception sometime in 2012, problems, issues and other LIS concerns are great for a teacher to handle and likewise with a limited computer literate teachers, related issues were piling up.

LIS help desk was created to handle those unhealthy situations. With the diligence, invaluable services of those members of LIS team of admins, data issues and corrections guides were created to address effectively and inteligently the common problems which every teacher, ICT coordinator, and even school head confronting everytime they open their LIS school account.

Balik-Tanaw to Cainaman Elem. School

by Gil Camporazo

A retrospect (balik-tanaw) to Cainaman Elementary School on how it grows after 50 years. It's a golden era for CES so to speak then.

Cainaman Elementary School, Division of La Carlota City
Cainaman Elementary School, Division of La Carlota City

It pays to spend a time at the Cainaman Elementary School to join with its 3-part activities as it celebrates its 50th founding day recently. It was indeed a great day for I was able to meet with my previous pupils like Rolando Columna, Raymon Barcenas and Ronelo Moncada.

I would say that this is the Golden Era of Cainaman Elem. School. It is an era of experiences of the good, the bad and the ugly. It is an era of recollections among the pupils, the teachers, the school heads, the parents and the alumni for the best of times they have had for such 50 long memorable years.

It is also an era of acknowledgment of those who had never counted the cost of their efforts and labor which had brought the school in her present state of success and above all, it is an era of adoraton of God's goodness and blessings in which the school was able to overcome any form of trials and tribulations.

Listening Is Reading in Disguise

by Gil Camporazo

As the pupils listen to the stories read to them, their desire and love to read develops. And this could be possible. This had happened in the school children of Balabag Elementary School in La Carlota City Division in their recent reading activity. Not only the pupils enjoyed reading, but the storytellers did too in the said reading day.

Storyteller Ernalyn C. Aguinda
Storyteller Ernalyn C. Aguinda
Every November, the Department of Education (DepEd) has observed as the National Reading Month to support the Ten-Point Agenda of the Aquino Administration and to commemorate the birth anniversary of the late Senator Benigno Aquino, Jr. who was born on November 27, 1932, and to celebrate his ardent desire for reading, according to the Regional Memorandum No. 167, s. 2014 disseminated by John Arrnold S. Siena, Director III, Officer-in-Charge of the Office of the Regional 6 Director.

In compliance, the Balabag Elementary School, Division of La Carlota City conducted a reading session for its pupils during their recess period, though, it was late on the scheduled day, November 27 due to the heavy rains brought by a Tropical Depression "Queenie" which affected the Southern part of Visayas.

The Child Well-being Is Everyone's Business

by Gil Camporazo

Have you read the African literature that it takes the whole community to educate the child? And providing the child his education is one of his inalienable rights. To fully cater to the holistic development of the child, his nature should seriously be taken into account.

Sir Camporazo giving the concluding statement on bullying
In my practical point of view as asked by the first trainor, Mam Castro of Doña Hortencia Salas Benedicto National High School (DHSBNHS), Balabag Extension, I have defined child's traits through an acrostic like C for curious, H for humble, I for inquisitive, L for loving, and D for desirous to know more, an endless crave for knowledge.

There are situations, events, incidents in the life of the child that his rights are not respected, are not observed instead they're withheld and even curtailed. They're even maltreated, abused, exploited. That is why to address this malpractices of parents, relatives, and even teachers who handle them during class hours, there measures may include proper information dissemination, training for the parents, and community-sharing responsibility.

Humble Transformation of Cubay Elementary School

Cubay Elementary School in the Division of La Carlota was physically facelift and transformed into a well-maintained school, conducive for learning since the conduct of Brigada Eskwela, a national maintenance program of the Department of Education every 3rd week of the month of May in which concerned volunteers jointly and severally donated their generous time, efforts and service to what it is now.

As the school principal of this school, I took the following pictures after recess period between 9:45 a.m. to 10:40 a.m. while classes are going on. You couldn't see any pupil loitering around during class hour. They're all inside their classrooms. Only the school principal is going around, observing classes, checking teachers' lesson plans, school forms and other pupils' records.
